Now that my kitchen is fully installed, nothing left to complete other than the tidying up.  I have a decorator coming in soon to do the wall painting and the ceiling.  I bought new curtains to fill the huge patio window end of the adjoining family room.   I’m thinking that 21 years with the same curtains is probably loyalty gone mad.  So I chose a modern floral theme with several pale colours to choose from.  After the paintung’s done, I shall hang the new curtains and then look out for window sill objects – I do love the idea of having greemnery in the room but it needs to be contained otherwise it can grow to ovetake the space.   I did have a large number of african violets for some years – all babies from the mother pklant I brought home from my mother in law’s bungalow.  I nurtured these for years and cared for them – but suddenly I got  irritated with the fussiness needed for the job, so tossed them all out in the compost bin!
